Gloria Ushigua holds the important position of Coordinator for Ashiñwaka, a dedicated organization led by the women of the Sápara. The organization concentrates its efforts on the crucial task of defending the ancestral land of the Sápara people. These lands, rich in history and tradition, are located in the province of Pastaza, a region in the beautiful country of Ecuador. Alongside land rights, Ashiñwaka is also committed to the preservation of environmental rights, understanding the profound connection between the wellbeing of the land and that of the people who inhabit it.
