The Dance Earth

The Dance will bring water awareness to our Dance Earth community in conjunction with Ambrosia Elixirs in Tribeca, NYC. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities that encourage a deeper connection with the natural world.
Ofrenda Fest and Queens Council On The Arts (QCA) present : The Dance Earth, funded through the generosity of the Mertz Gilmore Foundation.

The Quetzalcoatl Mexica dance involves bodily movements and has a ceremonial aspect that connects to the forces that sustain and create life. Guided by Yolanda Porcayo-Palma and Guadalupe Lares Tovar.

Water Lineage
Gathering energies from the opening portal, DRĖĖĖMY (Reem Abdou) and Nasimiyu Murumba (Simi Yuyu) facilitate a free-form experience of sound and movement that collectively tells a story to activate our ancestral wisdom.

Kalpulli Huehuetlahtolli dance group exist to provide community outreach in an effort to unite all peoples as one. The presentation of Aztec Dance is an offering that represents thousands of years of the Mexica’s pursuit for universal harmony. Each dance is a prayer, integrating our bodies and spirit to promote healing. The Danza (dance) is a way of life that we utilize to communicate with each other and the world. Through these dances we honor our Mexica ancestors and Indigenous life style. We preserve our culture, history and sense of self-worth.
